I have been teaching third grade for six years.

I spent my first three years teaching at a small, rural school in southwest Michigan. This teaching position gave me a unique experience teaching a diverse population of students that included students from a nearby urban area, students from the surrounding countryside, and migrant students who stayed in my classroom from September through November.

In 2016, I accepted a teaching position with Holt Public Schools. This position allowed me to move closer to my family, which was a definite bonus! I was also able to continue teaching third grade, which is (in my opinion) the best!

I am now living in Lansing, Michigan with my cats Phoebe and Denise. When I am not teaching, I enjoy gardening, spending time with my family, reading, participating in various runs/walks, and taking one-day road trips to the Great Lakes.
